University HealthSystem Consortium
About This Project
The University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), formed in 1984, is an alliance of 107 academic medical centers and 232 of their affiliated hospitals representing approximately 90% of the nation’s non-profit academic medical centers. UHC’s vision is to be a catalyst for change, accelerating the achievement of clinical and operational excellence within its member community by providing state of the art software products and services.
UHC offers a comprehensive set of products in the area of performance measurement, quality, performance improvement, revenue cycle management and supply chain to its member community. In 2007, UHC launched a set of major initiatives to re-architect and re-platform some of their core products such as Clinical Data Base (CDB), Core Measures, Operational Data Base and Patient Safety onto the Microsoft .Net framework using the web services architecture. To roll-out these products on time and under budget, UHC was looking for a reliable, cost effective and technologically proficient IT service provider to augment its internal development and testing team.
UHC chose Edgilent as a key partner to assist with the application conversion initiative and to design, develop and launch these state of the art technology solutions. Edgilent’s consultants worked closely with UHC’s staff throughout the project and process lifecycle to complete these strategic initiatives on time and under budget.
These software products have been well-received and accepted by UHC’s member community laying a foundation for future growth at UHC and continued benefits to its members.
